Building for the Next Generation

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14

Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church is dedicated to seeing children are spiritually fed and nurtured. Sunday School is offered at 9:30 am every Sunday.   Children are invited to join the choir, ushers, evangelists, missionaries, sound ministry etc.  Here at Wesley we believe all of God’s children are blessed with gifts and we welcome them to use their gifts.  During the summer we have Vacation Bible School which grows every year.

Being a connectional church we are often provided with opportunities to fellowship with other churches so the children get a chance to see the work of God through the youth of our denomination (http://www.cvent.com/events/truthville-2016-ced-winter-meeting/event-summary-f40787b6a25a4765b7ce440165ad9bd9.aspx).

We at Wesley also believe that education is important and sponsor our children on educational ventures such as the visit to the Martin Luther King Memorial (April 2012), the White House (April 2016) and the National Museum of African American History and Culture (May 2017).  Our scholarship committee is dedicated in providing  some assistance to those seeking higher education; the A.M.E. Zion Church offering several of our own schools as choices (http://amez.org/departments/colleges-a-universities).
